This Group Buy has concluded. Thank you to all who participated.

Hello fellow REDusers, I'm excited to announce an incredible GROUP BUY opportunity for the current lineup of Blueshape V-Mount batteries.
For the GB I'm working directly with BlueshapeUSA to coordinate some crazy wild deals on what I have found to be one of the best batteries in the industry.

REDUSER Blueshape V-Mount Group Buy Details

If you would like to participate please comment with what model / quantity you would like and I will add you to the list.

Shipping Details
GB is available in the USA and other countries upon approval by Blueshape.
Blueshape will do their best to ship to any country, but if outside the US please inquire so that I can check with the Rep about availability and approval. It's complicated because batteries are considered 'hazardous' and there are a lot of customs forms and dangerous goods restrictions. However, that being said Blueshape can in some cases ship directly from Italy to other countries.

Shipping Cost in lower 48 is $16 for your first battery + $4 for any additional batteries on your order.
With the exception of the BV190HD and BV270HD that are $20 to ship the first one + $5 for each additional.

Payment
At the close of the GB I will PM you details on how to send in your final order to Blueshape and they will issue invoices to you at that time. Payment can be made via PayPal or Credit Card.
*There is NO processing fee for Paypal, Mastercard, VISA, or Discover. For payment by American Express add 6%.

Delivery
After payment is made you should have your batteries in less then 2-3 weeks.

If you have any questions please let me know!

Spencer, first off, thank you for putting this together. Two questions.

1. What are my discounted battery charger options?

2. Did they ever release those Granite Mini batts w/the WiFi connectivity? Those looked like good options for RED users.

I got you down man.

For now, FOUR of these:

BV180 (180Wh 12.0Ah)

Thx
You bet, Nick. Added.

I will shoot an email out and see what deals we can get on chargers. I'll let you know and then update the original post above.

As for the minis... it sounds like they are coming but may still be a ways off. I would guess late this year or early 2017.

Oh, Steve, to answer your question about the charger... It's it likely that it would work, but I am not 100% sure it would be compatible with the electronics in the Blueshape or not. Beyond that it does void warranties to charge batteries on a charger other than the manufacturers... if that is pertinent to you.

cool I can always grab up their cheapy charger, by the time these come in I will have my rig more figured out, actually before the buy is up I should have everything figured out, thanks again

Are these airline safe? I would like to bring them on an airplane with no limitations.

These are Lithium-Ion batteries which are subject to airline regulations.

You cannot check Lithium-Ion batteries (EDIT:If the battery is installed in a device then you may be able to check the battery and device together)
Carry-on is OKAY depending on the watt hour of the battery.

Here is an except from American Airlines (https://www.aa.com/i18n/travel-info/baggage/restricted-items.jsp)

Lithium-ion battery acceptance by Watt-hour (Wh):
  • Less than 100 Wh – Unlimited quantity in carry-on baggage
  • 100 - 160 Wh – 2 spares in carry-on baggage
  • 160 - 300 Wh – Contact Special Assistance

do these communicate with RED cameras like Switronix hypercore red do? And I just checked the prices on BH and they are much cheaper to start with (not with the discount) like this one you have for $387 https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/prod...pe_bls_bv090_bv090_granite_14_4v_v_mount.html
Or this one about $100 less to start with than you wrote https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/prod...pe_bls_bv150_bv150_granite_14_4v_v_mount.html

David, thanks for the questions.

Yes, Blueshape batteries communicate with RED cameras and they can display the percentage % of power remaining.

As far as price this GB is based on the manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP)
Apparently B&H already sells below the MSRP... but as you noted... not as low as this GB could be potentially.

Awesome! Im looking to buy 4 blueshape batteries.
What are the differences between Hi-demand batteries and the normal ones? I want to use it on the scarlet-w.

I also live in The Netherlands hope they could ship it from Italy.

Thanks!

I sent an email to check on the Netherlands for you :)

Wondering same thing.....

The high-demand batteries are designed to maintaining a higher current.

From B&H
"This lithium ion manganese version is capable of sustaining up to a 12A current continuously without overheating or suffering performance losses, making it very fitting for cinema cameras with high current demand, such as the ARRI Alexa."

From BlueshapeUSA (http://blueshapeusa.com/products/batteries/v-mount-batteries/)
"By using an advanced lithium ion compound with the latest in technology, BLUESHAPE© developed batteries specifically suited for the higher demand cameras and accessories. Designed to sustain a 12Ah discharge, these batteries can handle a 15Ah surge without damage. The high demand cameras and the accessories such as the 1′ x 1′ LitePanel© can be easily met with batteries in this series."

For those wondering about the difference between High-Demand (HD) and Standard batteries here is a more technical answer:

"Standard demand design max is 9A and will surge to 12A. High demand design max is 12A and will surge to 15A. Above the limit, the battery shuts off to protect itself. Remove it from the device for a few seconds and it resets. Some cameras have a high draw; most can use the standard."
