Hey Everyone,

I'll be the liaison between you and Turbo Ace. So any questions, just post here and we'll get the answers ASAP. This is an unbelievable price for what you're getting.

Weber, how does this compare to the Ronin?

Hey Winters! I'm really impressed with the AS7. One thing I prefer over the ronin is you can use any 4s battery mounted on the cross arm but the one it comes with fits in the top tube. I don't want to be locked to a proprietary battery. Also love to huge pan motor and support berings.

Dave, is someone making an adapter to mount this gimbal on a steadicam arm?

Galen, I don't know for sure and I'm looking into it.

What I do know is there is a heavy duty 3/8 thread bolt holding the handle on the top of the rig. It takes some turning but it is probably the best way to mount the rig to any support system you may want to use. It seems to me that if you wanted to mount it to a steadi arm, it would be a fairly simple make for a machine shop. As soon as I find out a solid answer, I'll let you know.

How much does the gimbal weight with battery attached?

Hey Matt,

The gimbal weighs 9lbs with the battery. That is one pound less than the Ronin.

Check out this review of the Ronin and the Allsteady 7

Galen,

As of now, no one is making an adapter to mount this gimbal on a steadicams arm. But like I said in my prior post, it should be an easy make for a machine shop and probably not too costly.

Camera Tray Dimension Mounting Calculation

* Width: 227mm from Left Lever to Right Lever
231mm from Left Vertical Tray bracket to Right Vertical Tray Bracket
* Height: Adjustable up to 205mm from Lower Camera Mounting Bracket to Upper Carbon Boom
Adjustable up to 165mm camera height from Lower Camera Mounting Bracket to Upper Camera Mounting Bracket
For cameras slightly taller than 165mm, the Camera Tray's Top Boom can be raised with additional washers (not included).
* Depth/Length: 150mm from tray CG (center of gravity) to back of gimbal, 260mm is the estimated maximum camera length that will fit (please see below for calculation).

Dave, Cinemilled.com says as soon as they get caught up with their Ronin project, they will start designing steadicam adapters for other manufacturer's gimbals. Good.

My buddy just got his All Steady and has sent it back twice because of poor electronics and the difficult customer service. It's a great buy and i won't lie i love some of the ideas that they implemented but remember you get what you pay for. The Movi is still king in my opinion.

I'm actually in the market for a 3 axis gimbal right now and have been looking at the ronin for quite a bit. I was about to pull the trigger when I saw this thread. Are there any real world user experiences out there yet, especially those using the Allsteady with heavier cameras such as the epic? There are quite a few features that seem really well thought out on this vs the Ronin, and quite frankly a few of the QC issues seeming to pop up with the Ronin have held me back from actually making the purchase. But I am very interested in the Allsteady, and would love to see where this goes. At this red user price, it is certainly very tempting.

Jacob,

i can't speak to the problem your friend had but I wonder if the rig he has was an older model or older electronics. I agree Movi is a top notch rig. I just cant wrap my head around the price. I think you can get a good rig at a fair price.

Stefan,

My only experience with it is the testing and playing with it i did. It had a Red Epic on it and a pretty hefty lens. It handled very well and smooth as butter.
