  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Gemini and Motion Mount

I've always thought this would be a killer setup, with the Gemini's lowlight prowess being able to mitigate the light loss from the Motion mount. I'd be surprised if someone is not using this combo...

I would be careful with the motion mount, definitely does some color shift.

Hey just saw this thread I know it's a few months late, but yes it does work :)

Shot a short film in Jamaica last year with the Gemini and Motion Mount. I would say use it to about 80% ND, but anything after that gives some color shift so just be careful..

Was very useful though

As I see it. The motion mount is a motion mount, so not really a ND solution, but a tool to improve your motion blur / give a more sinewave like global exposure. And it does so to a certain extend but not fully.

As a Nd solution its not the best simply put.

Yes but when you use it for the base 1-4 stops of ND its very clean, and very useful.

It does work and there's a serious color shift after ND 9. As long as you know that and correct in -camera or post, you'll be fine. I haven't noticed anything too strange about skin yet, but I haven't done a serious test with that.
