  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Nothing official, beyond the working prototype, which did, indeedd, function well, except to say that the last estimated date for shipping has not officially changed and that is GREAT news.

Andy and Rob, et al. were all very upbeat on the Follow Focus kit. As mentioned elsewhere, the articulating arm with smooth ball joints, is another novel piece.

Spoke to Andy on Sunday on the floor before NAB exploded open. Sounds like one of the major hurdles in making the FF top notch has recently been let over. Not just yet, but I think BT is in the last stretch and getting close to pushing this baby out.

Yeah, I was in the same boat. I was hoping to play with a nearly finished Atom but it sounds like they are still working out some stuff on it. Sounds like it might not have the flip-over-for-Nikon reversing like it had before, it might be a small gear that attaches to the swing arm (also compatible with the full-sized Revolver).

Finally picked up a Misfit from the NAB floor, though! The guys at the booth were great and really helpful.
 
Can anyone confirm that the Revolvr and Revolvr Atom will still have the reverse gearing function for Nikon lenses? If so, how does it work on the two models?

Also, what are the main things to consider when choosing between the two models? Will the Atom be that much lighter? If I don't plan on using 2 hand wheels is there any reason to get the Studio Revolvr over the Atom?

i still remember in 2014 when Rob had told me on the phone soon probably by the end of that year.. oh man, i can't believe it had passed two years.. The wait is getting too much and it's even worse I'm waiting on the Atom..

What's the difference between Revolvr Single Sided Core kit and Revolvr Atom Cine Kit. Seems it "almost" the same components, is there something I'm missing? Secondly, could you please format the info you have on the 1st post listing the prices and the different combo. Right now, its a little difficult comparing the info there vs the pricing. Just thought I could point out while we wait for final shipping.

I’m pleased to inform you that since my last update on REDUser, release for the Revolvr Follow Focus units are now imminent.

We currently have a few field test units "out in the wild”. These were allocated deliberately as a final step in the QC process to ensure the integrity and quality we’ve promised. This was a random selection process with no particular preference for an end user or reseller. We felt this was necessary to ascertain impartial feedback on any mechanical or physical attributes that may have surfaced.

As a result, testing is now complete on the Revolvr and we've received nothing but positive feedback & data.
We would sincerely like to thank all our customers & everyone on REDuser for their patience. This has been the most challenging project to date - but with the feedback from this community, you’ve helped create a truly great follow focus. Built with incredible precision & accuracy, the Revolvr also solves follow focus placement especially with short lenses.

We have also ordered a large amount of raw materials to make this happen. These new parts consist of titanium, are extremely expensive, but necessary to maintain high tolerances and optimal performance. As a result, we will be raising the list price substantially after the initial run.
The good news though is that it doesn’t affect you immediately. We will honour pre-orders and the initial advertised price until the first batch is completely sold out.

As a way of saying thank you for your ongoing support, we are offering a discount on this group buy only to REDUser forum members who have already expressed interest on the thread.

Discount pricing will based on a tier system, with 10% off for the first 10, with an increase to 20% if numbers exceed 20 plus. So basically, the more people in line, the better the discount.
