Hey guys,
I knew it just barely through this forum. Wanted to see for myself.
You know how this looks, I just experienced this now for the first time my own.
The camera is really good, I believe it was a good investment at the right place in the right brand.
It has the right concept, a very good image, much improved overall quality (over RED ONE) and the service was as professional as I expected.
The flaring simply is not.
It is of no interest to anybody of having it and the open threads end in no professional solution except Deanan mentioning you are working on it.
A camera is only about one thing, capturing the image. And in EVERY backlight situation one is faced with the danger of capturing this failure.
I can't put this camera in hands of a DP the way it is. NO WAY.
Don't tell me Ridley Scott or Peter Jackson are living with this flare.
This does not get enough attention!
I have this camera in my hand. It is not perfect. Nothing is, me neither.
In the current state I could live with most of the minor flaws for my work environment or work around them if needed and I am sure many of them will be fixed, because it is software. Lucky us, good decision we customers made buying into such a system, and good service from RED working hard on these things over time.
But this must be priority number one and I don't understand why it isn't.
