Hello, I just tested native Ethernet support in iOS 10+ with foolcontrol... and it works beautifully... For russian arm, underwater and studio shoot this can be a very good solution if you do not have the special serial app...
setup was done with an Apple lightning USB camera adapter, a GIG-E USB adapter (used a Belkin USB-C + USB-C female to USB A male converter) and some external power (required by the adapter + keeps the phone charged at the same time). Don't forget the lemo to GIG-E cable and a few KipperTie smart cable wraps to keep everything neat and clean.
Camera and iOS have to use manual IP setup but details are in the pict below (10.10.10.1 is both the iOS IP and gateway).
Will certainly be even easier once all iOS devices use USB-C like on the new iPad pro... but this works today on DSMC1 or DSMC2 with a GIG-E module and should also work fine on a DXL or RANGER
