hey, was that a panasonic lcd on the camera......Am I wrong or did the red lcds not make it in time or did you just not get one?

This is my first post o'er here at REDuser. I've been following this thread for hours, just refreshing and letting the envy take up sleepy time.

The footage made me register (after so long) and post up:

Nothing to be said that hasn't already been said thirty thousand times over. But... Wow... the H.264 file straight out to 42" LCD is absolutely amazing.

Congrats to those that took the risk... I can't even imagine how you must feel right now.

Can't wait to get my hands on this thing (hopefully this November).

The model was obviously a graduate of the Handsome Boy Modeling School.

No comment on the jaggies in nightcan...:whistling:

Define Jaggles?

This is great. but the nightcan pic means trouble. silent before the storm...

Define Jaggles?

Didn't want to get into it b/c unsharp was used in PSD and also it looks a little soft (slightly out of focus) but can't deny its there. But who knows what the original file looks like, maybe it will be uploaded for comparison.

Still, the 2k compressed looks stunning. I am glad I am ticket holder, and these aint no wolf tickets!!!

yeh lets forget the nightcan one ever happened eh :-)

Watching that 2K mov though brought back my Red confidence super quick. Looks great.

I think what this (at very early stages) is showing, is just how hard it's going to be to hit focus at 4K. I think this is why we're getting some early sharpened/processed images, which is to be expected...

I read in the FX article that they didnt think Red had as wide a Dynamic Range as the F23. I thought it was a bit early to judge on that, unless they know something we dont.

BTW thanks to the all nighter team for doing this. Exciting times.

Remember the nightcan image is ISO 2000 and has way too much unsharp mask applied in photoshop so we should not judge the RED ONE from this shot.

The 2K H264 (at 800 or 1000 ISO, no curve/postprocessing) is truely AMAZING !!!

Thanks guys for posting early tests for all of us.
