  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

First Adult Movie Shot on RED

I'm actually surprised this is the first Red shot adult film I'm hearing about. Normally film/video technology goes through government and porn before the general public accepts it. Jeff, what else do you know of that has shot on Red? How long ago?

Give me a break. Why are people complaining about this? Just add a warning to the thread. We're all adults here. Are we that puritanical? My only complaint was that the video had poor lighting. Your DP need to make your characters more dimensional. Some shots just looked like a JVC MiniDV camera. Especially on your male lead when we are first introduced to him. You shot him behind a flat wall with no lighting on his face. He looks like wallpaper. Give him dimension. Add some rim light and some soft fill. The blonde girl should not be shot & lit the way you lit her. We can clearly see that those boobs of her are veiny and fake. I think with the Red, you're really going to be turned off by fake-looking women like this. Maybe its a taste issue. I prefer the real over the plastic. If I were to shoot porn on Red, I would use real women with very little to no makeup. Natural 'Dogma-95' mise-en-scene and lighting design. I would construct a simple narrative and just let these characters BE. Fake T&A on Red just doesn't look hot. It looks TOO REAL with subjects that are so fake. Like a psychedelic shaman, the Red is able to strip away the bullshit and show us the true light of the individual. I wouldn't change the audio design though. That was fine.
 
The link was removed because there are apparently people who still get offended even after the OP warns about nudity and sex and the site itself warns again and asks you to confirm before entering. Honestly, I removed the link as a means of choosing the lesser of two evils -- riotous members vs. pulling a link that can be easily looked up. Actually us mods here have (by popular user demand) worked very hard to keep the forums porn free -- the amount of porn spam that pops up from time to time is unbelievable. While this isn't porn spam, it's a film shot on RED. They have just as much right to be here as any other music video or indie film trailer or whatnot already posted here. The problem is, too many in this community still have a problem with the porn element.

It's DigitalPlayground dot com. The film is Jesse Jane Heat. And apparently the trailer isn't directly accessible from their store yet.

At this point in time, I'm going to leave the link off. Because when I come back tomorrow sometime to look at the site, I would rather view a few posts and PMs whining about censorship, blah, blah... Than a ton of people mad over a porn link they couldn't help but to click on. In the mean time, until I figure out the best way to handle this (hopefully the other mods help me on this one), anyone who wants the link can PM me. I will give it to you. If I do give it to you and you are offended by what you see, then too bad, live with it. At least this way people have to make a conscious effort to obtain the link instead of clicking on it while on reduser autopilot.

Well, we live in a society where blowing a human being to pieces every 10 seconds of the movie is cool, where as making love is an offence. Go figure.

This is not a shot at you Jeff, but I'm sure I am just as offended by the censorship of this link, as those who objected that don't have to go there and don't have to look at it. The poster is obviously serious about using RED, placed it in the proper forum and provided two levels of warnings and protection for those that might be offended.

I've shot all kinds of subjects with my RED from the space shuttle to sharks - and beavers may be next - but I don't find that subject any less interesting or less important or less worthy of consideration here.

Keep it up Joone, some of us appreciate it. If you or others can up the production values all the better.
