  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Hi guys,

Can anybody instruct me on how to go about doing the current firmware upgrade on the Raven ? Iv downloaded the files from Red.com and can't seem to get the files onto camera !

-Take "FORCE UPGRADE" folder and put it on an empty SSD

-Power up your Raven WITH said SSD inserted (BE SURE to have FULL battery OR power from the wall)

-After few sec you'll hear fans at max speed (this is normal)

-Wait till your camera power down

-Re power Raven (I do it w/o the SSD where I had the new firmware)

-Check noise pattern as you most probably should do a new black calibration

Hi Steven,

The Firmware Upgrade instructions are in the release notes included in the firmware download package. If you have followed these steps and are still experiencing issues installing your firmware, please submit a Technical Support request and RED Support will be more than happy to help you get up and running!

Is anyone else having issues with the new firmware? Right after 'Initializing' after boot, the 4.7" LCD goes black and displays nothing. I've reverted back for now, just curious how many others are experiencing this.

It was there for me. Go to Menu > Settings > Maintenance > System Status > Camera Info and make sure your firmware matches the beta build.

You were absolutely right, the firmware I downloaded wasn't the Beta. Now I have the beta installed and the logo is on screen during startup, thanks.

6.3.101 is the latest release built and does not include the new features of beta 6.4.x firmware (including the logo). Those should be available in a few weeks as a release firmware version 7.x. once 'all' bugs have been squashed...
