Hi Redusers:

While planning a shoot, I've just opened the Toland app on my phone to discover that it doesn't work with iOS 11. Does anybody know of another app (or website) that calculates field of view for a given lens, format, and distance? Red's online tools don't seem to cover that.

Thanks!

My formatCompare tool provides HFOV, but I'll likely add diagonal after I've read this post. It does compare two formats.

Here's an example with some focal lengths entered:
http://phfx.com/tools/formatCompare/formatCompare.cgi?formatOne_typeTech=RED%7CMonstro+8K+VV&formatOne_format=8K+FF&formatTwo_typeTech=RED%7CMonstro+8K+VV&formatTwo_format=5K+FF&focalLengths=18%2C25%2C35%2C50%2C85%2C105

I might make a "single mode" to make life easier when just looking for a straight one format answer. You can also just enter the same format in both selectors for now.

Just pluck in your focal length and sensor size in mm x mm and focus target and you get a lot of good info.

I've recently built one. There's no app (above my programming level), but I think the site is pretty mobile friendly. You can get angular field of view by not entering a focus distance, or actual dimensional field of view if you do.

Currently the preset sensor sizes don't include cine/Red standards, but you can type them in manually and I plan to add them as presets.
