Favourite Reduser Quotes™™™™™™™™™™™™

What is frustrating is watching wild Speculation turn into hopes which then turn into expectations which then turn into bitter complaints when RED doesn't make good on the "promises" they never made. Then comes all the bitter rants about how RED promised this or that, and then didn't deliver and how they can't be trusted. Geesh. Why not just wait and see what comes.

Francis Kenny, ASC:
The Epic's size and versatility allowed me to shoot 3 to 4 cameras on almost every set up. The richness of the Epic's look, from color rendition to dynamic range, made non believers into believers. The other cameras I've worked with from Europe and Asia all produce great images. I believe in my heart and mind the Epic produces better images. Perhaps it's the size and versatility of Epic that allows our production quicker set ups with more time to concentrate on producing images rather than spending time on setting up a camera system. To be able to work with a tiny camera, with the heart and soul of the very best film camera and film stock, and have it produce stunning images is a great feeling. It inspires confidence. I never feel overwhelmed by having an 800 lb. gorilla in the room.

I wish everyone could come to our set and see the beauty of this system. I wish every cinematographer knew of Red's support and passion for their products and how much they've helped me. Hands down this camera is the best image producing engine on the market. It is a miracle. It will make all of us better cinematographers.

What I encourage any filmmaker to do is develop their ability to previsualize, to develop a visual imagination, and find ways of conveying emotion and story information through images. Learning the technical stuff is useless if you don't have a creative idea to express using that knowledge.

Timur, I have found that my goal of 2013 is to avoid ever reading comments on CNN and on a lot of filmmaking websites. Reduser still has a lot of good people here and worth reading. I have decided in 2013 I am getting back to reading books, making more content, and spending far less time on the internet. On that note, time to get back to editing.

Looper is a better movie for exploring an as of yet undramatized ramification of the existence of time travel. Three Kings does a pretty bad job at that.

Three Kings does a pretty good job of de-glorifying violence and de-hero-ifying (it's a word now) the American presence in that war. Looper does a shit job at that.

Looper's child acting is fantastic. Way better than Three Kings'.

So at the end of the day... education is the biggest thing. Hence why transcoding is a pain in the arse for people that have no idea.. (including a lot of post houses)
And why Cameras that shoot PRORES or H264's seem to be better choices for the dumb, lazy or uneducated.

Such is life.

Hopefully your friend doesn't visit Reduser. Just a friendly reminder that this place is visited by many people. I've had clients who have mentioned they have had a look on Reduser. It's a small world. Your friend might not be offended in this case, but in general it's a good policy to be aware that people might see these comments.
