  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Fast computer low fps?

If you have a single 690, and want to force both GPUs to be used for compute, you can do enter this in Preferences/Advanced, save, and restart:

LsManager.3.NumGPUs = 2
LsManager.3.GPUMapping = 0 1
LsManager.3.GPUMappingEnable = 1
Thank you,I tried this, it did boost the Resolve, almost 160%-180% the original speed, but then after a while the system halted again ,1FPS left. Another sad thing is no matter what, 720P H.264 never run smooth, always jump and stop, from too fast to too slow, but anyway it's not what I focus, just a test.

Perhaps I do need another GUI card. Will a GTX or ATI FirePro work? Anyone tried? I saw some one mentioned that before that ATI will avoid the driver problem, is it true?

@Rohit: HAHAHA, Found the trick. Disable the Multi-GPU option in the NVIDIA control panel, this script boost Resolve, and no more problem. Now My 5KFF get 34FPS in quarter good with quite some color nodes(Footage is 48FPS, and if I choose 24FPS display, everything is smooth)! Half good still 12-14 with some color node, anyway the bottle neck is obviously not the GPU. Hoping RR can get a new price or an new model which can do 6K 48FPS*2, that's what I need then.

@Joel: According to my test (I link two monitors to one chip, free the other), the GPU with GUI doesn't looked suffer at all. But remember to disable the Multi-GPU option, that's for games only.

Anyway, is GPU still the bottleneck? My CPU get 60-67% in quartergood 34FPS and 52% in half good 12FPS, my raid is almost free (less than 10% output).
