Jon the dance scene in the game/lounge room, did you shoot
with two EPICs at the same time for some or most of the shots?

I can imagine, I shot a dance stage show a while ago...you never know where these crazy people end up lol
definitely challenging for coverage and all, but you guys managed it great.

Try a choreographed dance that I saw for the first time that day. Also, the dancers flew in and were shooting the video an hour later. Crazy day to say the least! ;)

I'd say about 75% of the stuff you see was single cam. One epic remained Steadicam the whole time and the other swapped from jib to handheld. I find that by shooting single cam it really forces you to focus on the coverage you're getting as opposed to "spray and pray."

Well I think your frames are great.

I had to ask since I cant imagine doing that many takes.

Dance team and talent must have been flawless.

Thanks for the love. They really did nail it- the group does lots of Circ du Solei style stuff and travel the world doing it. Super talented. http://www.quixoticfusion.com/media

I'd say we did about 10 take total of everything.

They're awesome. I think modern day cameras like the Epic and Alexa are almost too sharp with their 5k resolution for some situations. I love the look you get when you couple that resolution with older "lo-fi" glass like the speeds. They're tack sharp at T2.8, but get soft and creamy when you go wide open. flare very nicely too.

any good suggestions for renting? I like to rent before I buy which mm did you use?

Set consisted of 18, 25, 35, 50, 85. Normally you'll get a set with a 50, or 65. 50 seems to be more standard. They're older lenses so they can be hard to find. I know the Nashville and Atlanta markets definitely have them for rent. I found myself using the 25, 50, and 85 the most. 85 was my personal favorite.

Great job! Love the lighting and dynamic camera movement
