  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

F&V R-300 LED Ring Light

anyone have vids of the milk diffuser?
I bought the ring light and am thinking about getting it so I don't have to always set up my diffusion panel

Thinking about picking one of these up. What's the diameter of the hole?

Does anyone know the width (from rod center to center) of the Assault Plate 15mm adaptor?

I have the mount for the F&V ring light.

Just wondering if its a standard size.

Hi Eric,

please excuse the late reply here. The 15mm adapter for the R300 follows the 15mm LWS, so 60mm spaced apart from center to center.

All the best,
Mark

Thanks Mark. Purchased mount at NAB.

Works great.

Now all I need is the D-tap from my BRICK and I can be mobile :)

Since I have two of these Ring Lights and a single 1x1 BiColor X300, anyone care to share some lighting techniques possibly BTS photos :)

Anyone know if I can just use any D-Tap with this light or any LED light?

The D-tap offering at F&V is pricey and with shipping its twice the cost of original.

FYI.

Just as someone here suggested.

I contacted F&V and they got me decent shipping on the D-Tap connectors :)

Great company to deal with.

Pretty nice light, especially considering the low price

The one above. You can emulate easily with frost, but the proprietary filters are pretty smart, effective and snap-quick to put on and off

The milk diffusion filter is very useful especially when people have to look into the LEDs, it takes away much of the harshness of LEDs. As Alvise wrote any frost filter can be used but the magentic filter is the most convenient solution I think.

The NP-F770 link is from our US webstore, regarding local stock levels in the US it's best to contact the local support team support@fvlighting.com . In europe we currently only have the NP-F550 batteries in stock and you can find them here:

whats the difference between R300 vs HDR 300

One is for Rod/rail mounting and one is for light stands.

whats the difference between R300 vs HDR 300

The initial name was HDR-300 but customers and us as well often use the shortened (ok, not so much shorter :-) ) R-300 / R300 when talking about it. There are two kits available, one with light stand mount and one with light stand mount + rail mount, but the basic name is not connected to this.

Just a few quick questions - any reason why the NP-F770 is only available in the USA?

Regarding the NP-F550, battery life is listed as 45 mins (at full power?)... what type of life can you expect on the R300 if using the NP-F770?

Cheers.

We don't manufacture batteries and source them from different suppliers in europe and the US, therefore our offer differs. Basically the battery life approximately doubles with the NP-F770 battery in comparison to the NP-F550 and triples with the NP-F970. But also weight and size doubles and triples, personally I prefer the NP-F550 or several of those to the bigger batteries.
