It used to be that technology advanced at a predetermined pace. You bought a camera or computer and it was good for a couple of years. Then you bought a new one. And it was good for the next couple of years.

Things are different now. Things change much more rapidly. Almost every week. New capabilities happen every time you turn around. You have to pay attention.

At RED, we make you stay awake. New firmware builds happen often. REDCINE-X updates happen all the time. New color science. New features are enabled. Improvements happen often... usually free.

The idea of buying a new camera every time something new comes along is just too expensive. That is why we subscribe to the "update" philosophy.

"Everything can, and will, be made better. It is just a matter of when and by whom." Trust us to keep you current.

The improvements sometimes come so fast we barely have time to fully appreciate the cool things they have replaced.

This is why I bought a Scarlet!...and about 15 other reasons.

And this is the reason why I have invested in RED - their equipment, their philosophy, their vision...

Love what's just round the corner.

:))

This sounds that DRAGON could show up at NAB 2012 with a promo footage on the brand new RED laser projector driven by REDRAY player,

than the preliminary specifications on a white paper (specs are also always a subject to change) and a DRAGON sensor sample under well protected glass box,

and maybe we could get it in our cameras just about the same time next year (2013)

according to a philosophy "we are mostly, almost or always LATE either BACKORDERED"!

It's a very simple marketing strategy as usual.

You won't be disappointed.

I Like the upgrade philosophy but on the other hand, there is nothing wrong with ebay. So buy, use, sell and get new is not so bad. So please bring updates and when that is not enough to be the in the lead then please bring us something new to buy. There is always somebody out there that would be happy to buy the old one.

Needs no explanation...The future is RED!
