Hi Jannard, Jim

Is there going to be price change in scarlet brain ?

If there is, what about the people who recevieved their scarlet in the last 30 days? According to Jannard's post "If you bought an EPIC in the past 30 days... we will offer a credit towards accessories. That amount will be posted along with the new EPIC pricing. Nov. 1st is when it happens."

I received my scarlet on 10th of Oct. if scarlet prices goes down will I be available for credit towards accessories ?

ALSO I have not even turned on my scarlet is there any way I can return that and pay the difference to get EPIC X ?

regards
SS

i don't think this affects me immediately, but wanted to say thanks. as a scarlet owner, i would say this is the best piece of gear i have ever owned. don't want to clog the thread, just wanted to say thanks.

Wow that is good restraint.
I would have fired up that baby even without a lens :)

Well, I expected my Epic-X to hold its value for longer than half a year... but yeah, prices coming down is certainly good news for most people.

Great news for everyone except the bomb squad reps... hope they're all at home resting before the storm hits.

thanks.

Wow! Imagine the Epic came down to the first RedOne price $17,500!

Jim,

Can't imagine why anyone would be upset. Seems to make perfect sense to me. I got my epic through Stage 2 and paid $10,500 for it. It has paid for itself in quality output and in rentals 3 times over so far.

Good on ya for lowering your costs and passing some of that onto the film community.

Anyone who is on the Iphone , MacBook Pro train understands...

Bula,

Peter

Wow! This is great news! Now, I wouldn't imagine Epics going all the way down to RED One levels, but perhaps getting down to $25-30K would be a little more realistic, that is unless things are so good and efficient that they can be under $20K now. Certainly looking forward to the official pricing adjustment.

The computer example works well, I recently looked into replacing my long standing AMD Athlon 64 system which died and it had been a top of the line system back in 2004 for a little over $5K after everything. Today I can get a high end system together that's more than 10x as fast for about $700.

The reality of business.. and the awesomeness of Red...
Roll on Dragon, until then - I'm shooting stuff!

I think this is excellent news all around. The only people I see being upset, other than the "competition", are those who bought an EPIC just 31 or 32 days ago. Oh well, such is life.
