I don’t know if this was widely promoted, but B&H now has an upgrade option for every single old Red camera. You can get $5000 off Gemini or Helium, pretty much regardless of the model you trade in. I am finally happy!

P.S. This promotion is not hosted on a public url, it’s behind an ad redirect that only allows access from a referring B&H page. On the B&H site you have to view the list of Red cameras to get the promo (click the red “upgrade your red” banner in the list). Barry, i thought there was a quiet Raven --> Dragon X tradeup through RED directly. Not sure which model you have, but worth looking into. Especially if they'll make a special exception for you if you have a different model (i.e. Scarlet-W, Raven, or other).

But this is a really only right now thing. Raven truly never did have an upgrade path, and somebody is certainly eating it on this deal.

My dream for months has been to be able to trade in my MX for something, and now my dream has come true. If I loved B&H any more I’d have to marry it.

It's probably because this promo came out before the Dragon-X was announced. This has been going on since at least fall of last year (I used to sell REDs). Also this promo is valid with any Authorized RED Dealer.

It is funny how you get the same discount for trading in either an Epic Dragon or a RED ONE MX! :-o
