  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

"ER" goes RED

This makes it the first US broadcast network series to shoot RED, correct?

When will the first "RED" episode air?

This is great news ... fantastic job Red Team!

Now you need to get my favorite show, 24, to make the switch

I will be watching every single second of the upcoming shows, possibly buy the DVD too... I just want to see how they treat the RAW 4k footy and I look forward to seeing what they are planning on doing with it... they shot film before right?

Red's take-over of the planet continues!!!
Congrats Red team!

Dave

The quest really is "why not?"

With ER coming to the end of it's run this season, it's the perfect time for the studio to try out the technology and workflow.
yeah thats a valid point ...this is great! the more studios and productions on this scale will really drive the red workflow support demand which in turn is going to be better for everyone:) ...wait until scarlet enters the market, we should see a shift in the digital market like non ever seen before ...behold a new era!Although, I dont think my girlfriend will find it very funny when i say iv got 2/3 inch in my pocket :)

all Red Digital Cinema need now is a genuine competitor then will really start to see things cooke

ER and LWS

Robert Keslow tells me that the Lightweight Support is a big hit with the crew on ER. They were looking for a way to make their RED rigs lighter and more compact for Steadicam and hand held use, and sketched out a solution. Robert saw that what they had drawn was similar to our support and got them two units to their set overnight. It was a welcome surprise, big hugs all around.

Might not seem like much, but if you can take pounds off your RED set up, on a Steadicam heavy show like the brilliant ER, it could make a huge difference.

Thanks to Robert and his gang and Keslow Camera.

Just watched it last night, and I would have to say it is shot on a 2/3 digital right now... right? Sorry I suck at IMDB'ing.

Current shows are and have been (for 14 years) shot on Panavision 35mm cameras.

Dont know who remembers the ER that was shot "live" with HDCAMS, It was shot at 1080 60i...or was it Chicago hope? Those Chicago based Hospital shows with ensemble cast all blend together :-)

ER

ER

It appeared to me that last night's, as well as last week's show was shot on something other than 35mm. Magenta artifacts and digital looking skin tones. Anyone know?
