All I know is that the boards can cost from $800-$1200 to replace. Not sure if the ports are attached to the boards.
1000 bucks for a HDMI well, might be a very memorable lesson

Ouch.
The DSMC2 platform hopefully will solve the camera repair troubles associated with a broken port since everything is located on modules now...

Ports are connected to the board, so that's a swap out. You will probably need to do it anyway (when you upgrade or sell). I had the IO board replaced once. It was 1500.00 for the board and 375.00 for labor.

IF it will be 1850 I will might just do it by myself, actually it still working

Yep...$1000+ modules.

Some modules like the jetpack are actually under 1000 and what I meant is that you can probably find a replacement faster to keep shooting versus sending you brain for repair... And fixing a broken HDMI on a module will certainly be cheaper than what it would costs on an EPIC brain today.

But may I asked when did you fixed it and what is your problem?

so if i whacka IO module on the back of the cam, will this still work, with my board being down?

has anyone dropped the board out of there camera before and started trouble shooting and repairing? seems pretty simple its just 4 allen/hexkeys for access
