  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

EPIC-X UPDATE

Awesome news!!! We have some Swedish-productions with start in late August/sep and be glad to post appropriate good-looking-footage :)

Great news about early september. quick question. i read in another thread that the Red One drive won't work with Epic and there was a 50% discount on SSD with trade in, correct or BS?

Also will the old EVF and 6" monitor still work with Epic? if so how about their cables ?

This was Jarred's response about drives, not sure where that stands at this point, but this is what you were referring to.

As for the 5.6" LCD. I don't think they have that working yet with Epic. And I'm not sure about EVF either.

just saw you post Steve....the RED 5.6 LCD??? i have mine working and use it in place of the touchscreen LCD----i find the 5.6" LCD better than the touchscreen....

That is very good to know. I know at one point it wasn't working yet.

Have you tried old EVF?
 
Will the Epic-X have two Red viewfinder/evf ports, so that one can use the touchscreen lcd and a bomb evf? Will the
Pro I/O have an additional evf port, so that we can make our Epic-M more functional. Thanks.
 
great move from RED. this bundle shows different things.
1. red cares about pro's (ti mount)
2. wodka has a good effect for us customers
3. the trade in for drives is unbelievable
 
That's fantastic. Solid Mount. Media upgrade.
I'm guessing CF is going to be phased out sooner or later for other smaller media choices.
Losing the smaller IO block is OK I guess as long as there is a replacement down the road.

I'm in LA this week for a wedding/business. Anything to see if I drop by The Studio? I've never had the pleasure of meeting you guys!
 
It clearly states this is a STAGE 2 update in the first post on this thread. NO MENTION OF STAGE 3.

Jarred and RED also replied that Stage 3 is after Stage 2. Stage 3 will not even commence until ALL STAGE 2 Cameras are delivered.

SO THERE IS NOTHING TO UPDATE until Stage 2 is delivered.

What else is there to know? Are you guys seriously asking if people who TOOK NO RISK...(Stage 3) get the same generous upgrades as Stage 2 people do?
I don't think so guys, wouldn't be fair to RED. And given RED has not responded, my guess is the question offends them...

This offer was extremely generous and the last thing we need is Stage 3 people clamoring for answers that were already given
