This skater dolly has quite of few of options..it's tripod compatible, handles up to 250 pounds and costs much less:

Paul that looks pretty nice (on masonite as Stephen says?). I like the small form factor of the Skater and Omni-Tracker. I also plan to get a high hat machined onto a backrest or the part of a Can Am Spyder, Till then I am hand holding it at a very very slow speed. Any options for a motorcycle mount or at the end of a Spyder CANam?
I gotta work out the follow focus , the mounted tripod, and power source (for charging the batteries in the front trunk). I have a Transformers Film Screening next week. So I have to work fast to get down there from Northern California to Hollywood area.
(like the Snowspeeder turret in Empire Strikes Back?)

We just LOVE our Omni-Tracker. . . it's amazing and has no issues with the weight of our RED. . . but what in God's name could possibly make a RED weigh 52 pounds???? Ours is quite tricked out and only weighs about 28 pounds.

Lee, would you advice getting the HD over the previous version?
Hi guys,
I honestly don't remember the material under the skater dolly, but it sure looks like masonite on the pics doesn't it?
Joseph, that Spyder is wicked!!! Never seen anything like it....
I'll also recommend CineSaddles as a good handheld soft stabilisation platform.

Lee this is kickass,
Would you mind posting or PM'ing me some additional pics if you have them.
I've got an idea for a short that involves a grocery store scene and this looks perfect for the tracking shot on the cart.
Did you do anything to the cart wheels to smooth out the ride?
(last time I used several sandbags, which helped, but the jury rigged support sucked)
Thanks,
Steve
