  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

EPIC-X begins...

True that. An upgraded S35 sensor with better colorimetry and latitude (to match Monsto generation) always seemed like a smart thing to do as well...?

Although I want a FF35 stereo rig with Red Electronic lenses... I begrudgingly accept that the rest of the moviemaking world might still want to make films with all of those S35 lenses they have... after all, that frame size did seem to work for a couple of films :)

No way you are marking an EPIC-X with both EPIC-X on the front and then also printing EPIC-S35 on top. That's an EPIC-S35, formerly EPIC-S, formerly Scarlet-S35. Sweet. The supply chain problems gave you time to deliver them at the roughly same time, then?

If this is true I'll fly to Red headquarters tomorrow with my cash.EDIT- If it means going through the WIPEOUT esque obstacle course of the Scarlet demo footage, so be it.

Epic-X has ALWAYS been an Epic-S35. This goes all the way back to 2008:

The Epic-M is also an Epic-S35; it's an EPIC with a S-35 sensor. The cameras are virtually identical; you can tell the difference between the two by the engraving on the front:

The designation on top tells you what sensor it is. As the sensor options change, I'm sure that marking will too.

To be fair, no one ever said anything about RED Dragon being anything. Everything related to Dragon is pure speculation at this point.

I was only saying that it looks like the top plate could be replaced with a new one, with a new designation *cough whenever / if ever a new sensor goes into the brain. Like when a RED Dragon chip goes in it - whatever that maybe - the only thing we know is a sensor called RED Dragon, although I suspect if we gang up on Jarred, we might get a hee...hee...hee

thanks for this information !
so my original evf have had a repair in june (in lodon) so i i have the good evf firmware for the epic ?
 
Take a deep breath, then exhale? Now repeat X 10 times- then wait for the email?
Then do it all over again Take a deep breath, then exhale and wait for the camera.

I never thought I would go back so soon to doing Yoga breathing exercises (Asana).

But now need it! just to stay calm and focused with work in hand and not think of the only thing
that keeps popping in the mind, an EPIC.

Thanks RED its been a fantastic ride till now, and its going to get better.

Thank you Jim,

The number was counted from the burning in shelf :). Our Epic-M already giving us plenty of great jobs and getting our Epic-X soon will even can provide more clients fun shooting and joy of producing visuals. Thanks RED team.
