  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

EPIC STAGE Clarification and update

Well for those of us less fortunate!!!! i just wanted to say that i got the hammer on my hand ready to crack open my Porcelain Piggy bank!!! For Stage 4 that is!!

Soon send Stage 2 EPIC to users. We are really interested and awaiting for a feature film to shoot.
 
Dear Jarred,

Stage "5" (or whatever one wants to call it) is a trade in towards any EPIC brain in the future (Monstro etc), as long as the RED ONE is not executed.

Right?

No. FULL TRADE-IN towards Epic Monstro, not Scarlet etc

Jim mentioned this quite a few times...

In any case, I'm surprised there is still so much confusion out there (not referring to you, Joseph). Although, I guess with so many options, it is easy to get lost.
 
Hey Dan, I'm pretty sure they said that other than a minority of R1 owners that had not yet executed, Scarlet would be open season for everyone at once.

At the end of the game now I'm repeating myself all the time to be happy that I can still be there to get EPIC

and also keeping cool to see what is going on there from the distance of STAGE 4 until get my hands on EPIC.

Again super cool just because till then I do have my beloved and trusty R1-MX that is probably and

surely still the best digital cinema acquisition system available in the next 12 months.

Absolutely.

And for the R1 trade-in on EPIC Monstro, there will be an option, but only for those cameras that have not been executed and purchased before today.
 
Hi Jarred,
Do you have any time scales yet for when stage 2 is likely to begin (e.g. within 3 to 6 months)?

Also do you now know the roll out time for stage 2 (And therefore how long before stage 3 begins afterwards) now you have your numbers?

Anyone else tempted to get the MX upgrade for their R1 and wait until Epic FF35 ships and then upgrade? As opposed to going to Stage 3?

Jarred, can we get clarification on this option before having to decide on entering Stage 3?

additional: This is a hope, but it would be nice if one could opt for Stage 3 and then get a trade in for the Epic X brain toward the Monstro brain... or maybe the Monstro sensor can simply be an upgrade for the Epic M-X sensor like the M-X is for the M sensor?

this is my thinking... focus my upgrade path around sensor technology
 
You can trade in an unexecuted RED ONE for a FF35 Monstro Epic (Brain only) for full R1 value.

Nothing lasts forever though.. You will likely need to decide which way your plan on going when we are about to enter stage 3.
 
STAGE 3: Trade-in your RED ONE and get EPIC-X Stage 3 package ( NEW R1 ELIGIBILITY CLOSED )

Cameras only eligible if invoiced by RED or having completed the official RED ownership transfer process on or before October 29, 2009.
Trade-in your RED ONE and serial number is executed. "Executed" means not eligible for any other trade-in offers/credits.


Fully understood.

But I have one question about STAGE 3.

Most of the RED OWNERS do have a REDFLASH MODULE. I believe, we are not allowed to remove the REDFLASH MODULE by ourself.

What will RED do with the REDFLASH MODULE of the Trade-in-Cameras? Do you send it back?
