  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

EPIC Reservations Begin...

Such a pitty! That's maybe 'cause they go for a "know" set of lenses? I've tried the RPP's just once and fell in love with the glass! Such good lenses for such a low price! A must have in my list...

By now, I just placed my deposit for the Epic-x stage 2! Don't really have the money for the whole package right now, but I'm counting we will have to pay for full once they have the camera ready to ship (like with the RED ONE). Does somebody know if I'm wrong?

Hi Brent and team,

I just had a quick question I thought I would ask here since others might need to know the same.

We have more than one Red camera eligible for Stage 2. We definitely want to do at least one of them for stage 2 and I would go ahead and do that now, but am wondering if I decide to do some or all of the rest by May 1, can I log in later this month and I'll still see the remaining ones available for upgrade?

I just want to make sure I can do them in batches.

Just a minor thing, but you guys may want to correct it on the Epic reservations site:

The exploding/assmbled graphic version of Epic on the site is actually a Scarlet. It has a small sensor and includes the Scarlet Adapter module.

It's also in the press kit with the filename "EPIC_Explosion_2.jpg" with the same Scarlet bits as well.

Is there a difference for the Stage-3 programme wether the traded RED ONE has a M-X chip or not? Would be silly to pay 4500 USD and get the same trade-in deal as everybody else.

no difference.
for stage 3
the upgrade is cool if you need the MX now.
if you want to keep your MX R1 stage 2 is the way to go

or you want to wait for Monstro Epic (trade in your R1 plus Money for the Epic Brain)
this way you can shoot MX while waiting

Funny enough, I just got the funds ready and a check cut for 1/2 of the stage 3..... which coincides with the required deposit!

As other(s) have said, not I just need the $14,500!!!!!!

Well, no I have to decide to bite the bullet and figure out where in the world to get the remaining $$, or wait out stage 3.

Seems obvious. Rental demand will be highest, soonest.....

Darn you Red and you creative tools!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
 
any idea how many epics of stage 2 will be shipped the month?

Yes, just go back to same link and click the additional camera(s) you want in stage 2 before May1.

Per a post from Jim back in Oct 2009, you will have 30 days to finalize payment once your EPIC-X stage 2 package is ready to ship.

I seem to recall, but please clarify correct:

If I place deposit/order, an I am WAY down the list, I will be looking @ last quarter, or first 2011. No problem. But, when would I have to pay the balance? If I recal, it was within 30 days of notification that my camera is ready to ship? Correct? Or am I way off.

Just trying to make sure I have the longest possible time to find/borrow/steal/inherit... I seem to recall one can also earn money. Been a while since that happened:)

And thank you Jim and team for the option to upgrade the module(s)! (Subtle hint about the remote, IIRC, there being more than 1:) )
