  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Epic not switching over to Redvolt when Vmount pulled?

I'm on firmware 4.0.10 and if a Red Brick battery or AC Mains is pulled, the Redvolt in the Side Handle does not take over.

Is there any definitive answer to this?

Mines been switching just fine on build 4.0.10.

This works for me just fine on latest firmware. Never had a problem with this myself. Sounds like a faulty side handle maybe

I still occasionally have a battery swap that makes the camera go down. I haven't figure out any rhyme or reason on why it does it, but it happens.

At one point my system didn't switch over either. A cam tech at a rental company used a tiny screwdriver on the connection poles ov the V-lock and opened them up slightly (making them fatter). He then cleaned the area around the battery from plastic where the brass connections are. He also pinched those connection slightly.

Everything seems to work fine now; he explained that sometimes the connections on the battery and v-lock get warn to the point where the connections are not touching right away when replacing the batteries.

Anyway this world for me. Hope this info helps.

you guys should use paglink batteries. they have a vmount on the back so you can add to them in situations like this. its red approved and it works great for me so far, provided i throw it on in time lol...

ps my charger can charge up to 16 of these things at once, and they usable for flights unlike red bricks... kinda pretty sweet deal feature and price wise i think/duration of charge
