  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

EPIC is alive...

Maybe it's because I am working way too late in the office tonight, but I've come to the realization that my desire for multiple Scarlet brains makes me a Red Zombie!

2.8" touchscreen LCD in action...

This little screen is so BADASS... 840x480 24bit Capacitive Touchscreen with an incredibly wide color gamut.

that 2.8" looks too small for me, and the 5 inch is too expensive considering I don't need the touch screen, looks like its gonna be smallhd or ikan.....too bad though, I really wanted to be able to run my lcd off the main battery

You can still use the original RED 5.6" or 7" LCD on the EPIC and Scarlet..
 
Is the touch communication relegated to some of the ground or signal pins on the EVF/LCD cables or are the new ports >16 pins?

The screens look awesome. Will there be some that are built around Noga arm attachment points instead of the connector-infused "foot" these ones have? Can't wait to play with them... I'm dying to get into the menus of this thing.
 
lookin good guys!

Would be nice to have an upgrade for the red one with the same menus pre-release of the epic x..

obviously minus 5k, 200fps "epic specific stuff" but everything else in a similar location so that we can have a jump on know the camera before we take delivery.

I COMPLETELY forgot about this option, and like the last poster I also felt that the 2.8" was MUCH to small for my use, and the 5" was out of my price range, but Jarred you opened a door to my house that I forgot was installed.

I've been battling this decision myself, as I could really use a smallHD at the moment to get some 720p monitoring, but at the same time, I'd really like to have a screen with the touch built in AND run easily off of the built in scarlet.

I wonder if there will be a decent aftermarket for the 2.8 for those that want to go higher. Given a new 2.8 goes for $900, if I got even $450 for it then a 5" touchscreen would be $1600, so that would be $1150. That's not a whole lot more.

Of course, I really want to know what the resolution of the 5" is.

Jarred - but aren't the new LCD's the touch focus - they still allow you to do focus pulls with them don't they?

If im not mistaken that'll only be an option with the Scarlet Fixed. none of the other models will be capable of such a feature.

But please Jarred if I'm wrong correct me, as I don't want to mis-inform anyone.

Any chance that both can be run? (The 2.8 & 5.6 at the same time ...)
