definetly I don´t like the only one position of the LCD mount, DP & Directors like tu push, pull and bite something on the magic-arm.

Then this mount is a one piece with the LCD?

My bet is that 5,6" and 7" will be very popular for years.

Good Vico.. you dont need to by one.

For everyone else... the new LCD's also mount on NOGA / RED / MAGIC ARM for full adjustability. The mounting holes are 1/4"-20 standard, and the standard RED bolt pattern.

All this stuff is getting me so amped.

One thing I would really LOVE to learn more about at NAB are Epic 3D configurations and whether you guys, especially Jim, believe that the future of 3D is 2K projection or dual 4K projectors kicking out 4K 3D. Right now, it seems you either have to choose to finish your new Epic X films at 4K, or 3D, but not both. This is a topic of huge interest to many people.

So Jarred, will there be a Epic Module that will stream h264 video to an iPad App? This would rock. Having both picture and audio to the iPad would be great for the director on set. Also when doing cranework...

/CB

I've been looking into this - not via an official module but via an accessory...

Smaller cameras make for easier/lighter/better 3D rigs.

I like how when anyone points out any potential flaws in your products you completely destroy their argument by revealing one of the thousands of innovations you implemented to sidestep any potential problems.

I don't know how many of you have made a movie or other long form project where you busted your ass for months on end, and then rolled it out. Now matter how "professional" you try to be, it ALWAYS stings when some genius runs to point out what's wrong with it.

This is just a general suggestion to the world at large, but if there is something you wish was different, or you don't like, take care in HOW you deliver that advice. The team at RED are proud of their babies (For good reason) and will no doubt be a little protective of them as well.

Remember this is REDUser where they hope to enjoy a little saftey and/or kindness towards their stuff. If you want to be mean and callous, then go to Cinematography.com

They'll love you there. :001_unsure:

:iagree:

It's never good to come to conclusions on your own about RED.

Do you think Scarlet 3K x2 is the best bet for 3D productions coming up in, say, mid 2011? Or dual Epics?

Do you see any immediate future for 4K 3D, ie two 4K projectors kicking out a stereo 4K image? Or are the projection systems going to be the limiting factor on that?

I think that both will be used in 3D projects... but I would think that EPIC x 2 will be the rig of choice for the blockbusters.

Jim

Is there any reason other than framerates and the HD-SDI that the EPIC-X will be used more than the S35 Scarlet on those blockbusters?

Data rates... but I'm sure many Scarlet S35s will also be used.

Jim

Will scarlet really be able to handle 2k projection?
I just can't fathom a sub 10k camera thriving at 2k, that being said when it's in my hands I'm sure my disbelief will be gone.

I'm sure you're aware that cost != quality! :) Given the price point for the Scarlet, I cannot wait to see what people do with it.

I would think so....3K will produce a very clean 2K debayer, and with the improvements to the sensor, I think it'll be just fine.

Not that I actually know much...but I have faith in Red, if nothing else.

.....(god, that sounded fanboyish. Ah well.)

And remember the last word is there will be 4 different price points for the Scarlet...that's not even looking at the EPIC.

Wait, I thought there were only 3 variants of the Scarlet, elaborate, please Joseph.
