  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

EPIC is alive...

Any indication of how quiet it will be? It's a cooler running camera, but assume there's still a fan.

I'm sure lessons have been learnt on cooling from the RED One and of course the Alexa's 20dB?

Just a thought - if the fan is in the brain, and of course all the metal casings will be acting as heatsinks - but if we are stacking the maximum number of modules possible on the back, is there a chance the last modules will be insufficiently cooled?

Or does each module come with a fan - that could be a noise issue?

Whatever - I'm still stoked!! :drool5: :emote_happyhappy:

It was getting a bit quiet around here.

More exciting times at RED and for RED customers.

Great work!

WOW! Great news! Like waking up with a supermodel.
More pictures please! Although I'm sure you guys are keeping your "cards to your chest" till NAB, any and all information would be appreciated!

Speaking of cables... I dont think we have shown you this one yet.. it converts the DSMC power lemo to the legacy RED ONE lemo so you can still use all your RED ONE power options.. and those big RED BRICKS power EPIC for a very, very long time :)

Nice option to have for sure....

I hope you guys are celebrating today. It must be a real relieve to have all the pieces fall in place finally. Thank you for your hard work to give us artists tools that are finally good enough and affordable :)

horray for the camera revolution.

Congratulations to Jim, Jarred and the entire
Red Team!

Epic as a Stills Camera

Epic as a Stills Camera

Now that Epic is working, there are a few questions that have been running around in my head I hope The ones in the know would answer.

1. Will the Epic / Scarlet be able to sync with an onboard flash unit or strobe flash unit?

2. If this is possible, will there be an accessory hot-shoe?

3. In Stills mode, how fast would one be able to shoot frames.

4. How will these cameras compare to other DSLR's in Stills mode?

Anyway Just asking.

Respectfully
