  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Epic 5K R3D Single Frame

Mark, really nice shots, I love the times square one but the snow is just amazing

we've got some nice stuff coming in the test branch.
as soon as we move RCX356 off test and into to the red.com/support page...

brings to mind another 356 first production unit that changed everything...

Hard to believe it's moving images...

I hope that CS5 will be updated soon to support EPIC's R3D.

This is a stubborn group...

We are all testing another firmware build for EPIC. It is hard to sleep when so much is going on.

Alright. Alright. I'll forego a bit of sleep and help out with testing some firmware builds for you. If you PM me then I'll let you know where you can send the EPIC to :wink5:

Oh and...* apparently I've been known to be stubborn too ;-)

(* not sure if that is the right number of "dot dot dots" as per previous conversation)

I can answer that.. A LOT of Coffee and Redbull. Its our second biggest expense at RED ;)

Deanan is a dedicated machine.. the guy has been working 20 hours a day everyday for the last 3 months. And I'm not exaggerating.

True Dat! I have emailed Deanan at pretty much every hour of a day in the last year and he ALWAYS responds immediately. You sure he only works 20 hours/day? :)

Thanks to all of you guys for working so hard, but then I think, wait a second if I was in RED garage, no effin way! I could sleep either! IT AINT WORK, iTS TOO MUCH FUN!!

No EPIC R3D support in photoshop yet.. they are working on it. I love Adobe.

simple snapshot tiff from the timeline. RC2/RG2 gives you a nice fat file to massage.

Has it sunk in for anyone that we're passing around 5K RAW stills that are 3-5MB a piece? Make a TIFF or DPX of the same file and then think about that.

I guess we have thought abot that for some years by now.

Still pretyy sweet, though.

When is Epic-X and Epic Light actually for sale to ordinary people? When can they receive one?

Owning two Epic-X packages is my new goal for 2011.
