Jarred is a machine... I've never seen anything like it. He never sleeps.

Jim

Yes he is, I have emailed him 2 time's and got a Nice reply so i thank him for his time and effort.

You could have a more sophisticated algorithm that prioritize incoming mail based on previous volume of receive/answered mails to that person, date registered on RedUser*, specific keywords and absolute withe/black lists, etc.

*Although I officially registered in 2008, I'm here nearly daily since December 2006. Still can't get over the fact that I didn't push that submit button on the 1000$ deposit form at that time...

Totally understand Jim..... Will stop......

Bula Vinaka.......

Want you to enjoy life now.....

Jim, you have always been a gentleman and responded to emails. Honestly, I've wondered how you were able to respond as I assumed you must get ridiculous amount of emails.

Thanks for taking the time to do that. If you were unable to in the future, I think most here would understand. Better to spend that time dealing with overseeing the internals of the company and enjoying life as well.

BTW, when I lookup your island on Google Earth it's the only one that has a very really crappy shitty resolution for 100s of miles around. Did you pay someone at Google for blurring your island? :-) Because if not, that really sad for someone that has is life based on hires super-pro camera!

My gosh man. That's overly dedicated to the job. Here is what you do. You find some one (or possibly more) to go through your emails for you. I admire your dedication, but when push comes to shove, I am sure you have better things to do. So you need to find some one who thinks like you, who you trust implicitly, and who is capable of picking up your speech patterns. Now the tricky part is you need to have them write under your name. As if they are you... These people are not easy to find, and they have to be extremely trust worthy, knowledgeable, and patient... But i know it can be done, as i have done it in the past. The person I did it for is a great friend of mine, and I know that if he could, he would have dealt with it all himself, but due to the circumstances we were in, it just wasn't feasible and he had very much more significant tasks at hand. Your real problem seems to me that the person best suited for that in my mind (Jarred of course ) already has a full plate.

Jim, I think what you do here at the forum is quite enough as regards RED users at large. It's beyond extraordinary. On top of your substantive work for the company (which I can only imagine the parameters of), I can't fathom trying to keep up with emails that voluminous. I understand that your desire to respond to everyone is part of what makes RED so exceptional, but lines have to be drawn for the good of everyone. REDUsers won't benefit from burning you out.

I would say as some sort of compromise that you should have a trusted assistant screen all the emails that you get, give an automated response briefly explaining the situation to virtually everyone, and then send through to you any that are deemed really exceptional in terms of what the person is asking or offering. Heck, I wanted to email you once but didn't just because I assumed you were already burdened with far too many (and it's clear you are).

With great success, comes great responsibility, Jim. You're the man, and if anyone can handle it, I would put my money on you. I've always been of the mindset that it only takes one truly appreciative person to make any effort worthwhile, and you currently have thousands of backers. So, you should feel great about that and know that the time you expend has a definite impact. Hell, I don't look up to people, yet you're a rock star to me. Exactly the kind of person many of us seek to be.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n0cG11lTS1E - I never cared for this movie, but for some reason this scene really hit home for me.

You could always take Steve Job's approach and answer tersely. I think people would understand.

Hahaha. :coolgleamA:

And btw, I read your confession earlier. Nice. I went to 'SC, too. What did you study, if you don't mind me asking? I often wish I had chosen engineering, or medicine for the practicality -- I harbor a ton of ambivalence about this "industry."

+1 EXACT SAME HERE

There are a litany of things I've wanted to say, and I've just wanted to contribute to the team as a whole. I was thinking, "Man, I would literally sweep up for free, just to be there and learn." But then I thought, let me figure out how to purchase an EPIC, and that's when the conversations can really begin. I'm getting so close. :)
