  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Effective (and cheap?) Methods for Powering Scarlet

The Swit battery you mention has a max output current of 5.5A. Epic operation guide (page 32) says that it draws a maximum of 12A. I am not proficient at all in electrical matters, so I am not sure how relevant this current draw issue is. Just thought I'd mention it.

RED Users are reporting that the swit 80+80 works very well per this thread

Does that easily mount onto the back of the Epic/Scarlet in the same position that the VF | Brook's APU Plate would? Clearly it wouldn't quick-release the same way, but for my purposes, it's not going to come off for MONTHS. And are the Antuan Bauer batteries more expensive than the V-mounts that I listed in the opening post of this thread?

This is all about cost and viability. If the cost for RedMote + Battery Mount + Batteries + Charger far exceeds Side Handle + Red Volts + Red Travel charger, then for my purposes it's not viable (for the time being). In a perfect world, I'd grab either the VF Brooks Plate or the Action Products, but if there's a cheaper option that could get me by for 6 months to a year, I'd rather hear about it now than in 3-6 months.
