He probably just phoned someone and asked to be there. He's probably got something planned pertaining to this. It's the perfect material for a documentary.

Among the key issues that Cameron said he is interested in helping the government with are methods of monitoring the oil leak and investigating it.
"The government really needs to have its own independent ability to go down there and image the site, survey the site and do its own investigation," he said.
"Because if you're not monitoring it independently, you're asking the perpetrator to give you the video of the crime scene," Cameron added.
James Cameron has years of deep sea experience. He personally has logged hundreds of hours working at these depths or greater. BP turned him down. They want to control the information.

We are all to blame... For the most part adult human beings drive in the developed world and need oil for their automobiles. The preponderence of these vehicles and the infrastucture that supports this mode of transportation is by itself a threat to the environment. The truth is we don't really care. All hysterics is just a form of hypocrisy.

"We are all to blame... "

Bullshit.

I had nothing to do with the decision to cheap out on backup valves that could shut off this blowout.

I completely reject this "everyone's to blame so no one's to blame" nonsense. Those who play recklessly with the environment in pursuit of higher profit margins ARE to blame. They should be arrested and prosecuted. They should have no further participation in this catastrophe at all. They should have the right to remain silent while the Navy stops this leak.

Apparently it's more important to keep the flow going and park a supertanker over the spot, than it is to stop ALL the destruction. Just today a BP employee came on with his "goal" of "90% plus." In other words the leak could remain at 10% of the current level FOREVER and that would be considered a victory by British Petroleum.

British Petroleum's assets should be seized, and high level people who ARE TO BLAME should be under arrest. They should have nothing whatsoever to do with deciding matters in the Gulf of Mexico (in a sane world).

Now I KNOW you have no clue what you are talking about.

The NAVY?

Really?

The Navy is really good at killing people and breaking things.

Oil companies have the equipment and technology to handle this. (That doesn't mean that they are doing a great job).

The Navy. That was stupid.

"We" ?

Caring depends on realizing the consequences. Not realizing consequences is caused by limited awareness which is based on shortsighted, linear and distorted perception. Few birds being covered in oil is not the final consequence. Understanding reasons for inadequate public perception leads to a topic which "hurts brains" and tends to be avoided.

Blame mentioned when speaking about the modern society lies more in society's inertia and unwillingness of dealing with brain-hurting topics, than in usage of available means of functioning in modern society, the means which are forced to the society without any choice.

"Hysterics" you mention is a natural, well founded response, unless one is completely brain and soul-dead. It is the same type of reaction as after one's body part if cut off and rotting away because it is the same type of event happening at larger scale.

"Hypocrisy" route is a theory which feels better than the brain-hurting topic.

Thanks Evolve. Very nice of you. Croatian.
