We remember the early adopters well... Those that believed in Jim's vision when it was still an impossible dream, those that stood in line and paid deposits when everyone told them that RED was a scam...vaporware..snake oil....those that believed that everyone else's good was not good enough.

To some.. when they hear early adopter they think the first 50. or the first 100. or the first 1000.

To us.. it is everyone who took a chance and dropped down that deposit for a place in line before we started shipping the RED ONE on August 31, 2007.

So there it is.. our definition of an early adopter.

If you are in that group, thank you again. If you are not sure if you are in that group, make sure you figure it out before NAB.. it will be important.

I want to thank the early adopters for keeping RED around for a long time :)

Happy to have been an early adopter even if there hadn't been any perks - Red shook up a stagnant market which dearly needed shaking up

#27 here, standing by :-)

Early adopter #102 behind sir Vladimir. I threw down a reservation for $1,000 when I only had $1200.00 in my bank account. No joke. I was finishing my last year of school that year.

Speaking of DAY 1: http://www.reduser.net/forum/showthread.php?4035-First-Pictures
Such a shame my pic links are broken. =(

Playing with Blairs #19 August 31, 2007 - Jarred dropped by that day too!

I remember the day I put down that deposit very well. It wasn't like buying any other piece of gear. That much I was used to. And I never really get too emotionally attached to gear for the most part. With the Red One I was investing in something that actually got me excited about how much potential it had. At that point, I didn't know Jim or Jarred and only knew Graeme virtually but knew it was the right decision. So much has changed in my life since, a lot of good things.

Thanks for the hard work you guys put in. I know you've had to develop a thick skin over the years as there have been naysayers. You'll never please everybody. I've certainly joined in at times with some constructive criticism but always in the spirit of trying to make you guys stronger. To those who thought the Red One would never get off the ground and the company would fail miserably, I think many of them have probably gained some respect for you by now.

Where you go from here is of course why everyone is sitting on the edge of their seats waiting for the next step in the evolution. The industry certainly has taken notice of what you have done, what you are capable of doing in the future. My guess is that you'll probably land another big punch or two in the coming years that rattles them once again. I love to see companies push each other. It's great for us, the people who use the technology. So keep on pushing it, keep on innovating. It's what landed you here in the first place.

#182 and proud of it. Happy to be in that club... but happier that RED is alive and strong and putting out great cameras!

Best investment you've made buddy. I'd say that risk has paid off for sure.

Oh man I feel this is going to be good...

I actually called my friend a sound tech who was at NAB 2007 and in front of the RED booth and had him give the phone to the person taking orders to put down my down payment while my friend was telling me on the phone that he didn't think this was such a good idea... I said Frank just get me the piece of paper that says I have paid the deposit. And go enjoy the show at NAB... And Ill be very happy in a few months and you will see the magic...

There are a few things I regret buying that relate to my work... The investment in my RED One and in the RED companies ideas and products, Im very happy to say was and is, not one of those things.

Maybe be it will be shown worth it again and again and agin as it has all ready has.
Thank you everyone at RED.

Tonaci, you had money in your bank account? Better off than most of us!

haha, I didn't mention my college credit cards I was doing monthly payments on so definitely in the red at the time.

Phil, yeah...best business investment I have ever made in my life. I have told my story to a few folks...one of these days I'll type up my 2007-2008 life career changing transition.
