Mmmm-hmmmm. You let us know about that.My research shows the dual P6000s aren't completely necessary, I will be able to confirm later this week after my E5-2699 v4's and Titan XP's get here.
My problem is, even with run-of-the-mill 2K projects, once you throw 18-19 nodes and blur functions and NR on it, multiple versions, complex timelines, let alone OFX, it's gonna stall out very, very quickly. Add to that real-time debayer of 6K files... it's challenging. As for real-time 8K... I don't see that happening, particularly if you're trying to monitor at higher than HD resolution.
Anything absolutely can be done if you want to throw enough hardware and money at it. (Note for onlookers that the E5-2699 processor can cost as much as $8000 by itself, depending on how many cores it has.)
