  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

DSMC2 V-Lock Battery Module

oh man.. I was JUST about to order the backpack from Woodencamera..This is very cool, the price is nice. ONE more P-tap would make it superior to anything else out there. Are there any more pictures of this mounted on a standard Base I/O?

You know this ships this fall, not now? Plus, I'm not sure if this puts the batteries lower as they do on the WC mount?

yah i can prob wait for fall... also yah i want to see pictures.. In a perfect world i would prefer to have red taged on the back of my camera but still thinking about it. I have a cart going for WC with the new handles and some other stuffs

I am so loving seeing what our third parties are cooking up.

You guys at RED have been awesome but when you put the power of a whole industry into the mix, it gets pretty incredible. Kudos to all you do at RED. (But, I'll admit, it's going to take me a few months to figure out exactly how to manage my migration to the DSMC2 world.)

something I'm experiencing at the moment. just about at the end of the migration tho. One last tech check and should be good to go.

Now we're suddenly spoiled for choice. Omod has some modules that integrate a Latitude controller (1 or 3 axes), and the RTMotion motors are winners -- they're not merely quiet, they're so quiet that the make the Red Rock Micro motors seem like noisemakers by comparison.

Hm... it's a tough choice now between the Latitude Sidekick version or the Omod all-in-one dealie. :)

Since it's not shipping yet, maybe, just maybe there is a way to make 2 d-tap out ports instead of one?

This will make it the perfect battery module

I wish RED would make the Anton Bauer version of this - so much sexier than the ET version.
Gold Mount rocks.

I'm wondering if this could be modified to mount the battery in low mode like the Wooden Camera mount? I.e making the battery attach lower so that we could use the top handle. I'm having a hard time deciding on getting this since it seems to unable me to use my Red bricks just like with the V-lock Expander.

The bricks work only half well with the Vlock module. It has a limited Dtap port and as the Bricks have no power out you are kind of short in power if you ask me. Better get some batteries with more power outs.

I'm planning on putting the Wooden Camera rotating top handle on my Scarlet-W when it arrives. In addition to being rotatable, it also has a user friendly quick release, which ought to make transporting the camera mostly shoot ready pretty easy.

I'm using the top handle while filming so I can't use it rotated. And I have the old top handle from my Epic which I can use, but the camera becomes too high and there's no room for a touchscreen attached to the camera. I hate this thing with the batteries. I've been waiting six months for the WC mount and now I'm seeing users having a lot of issues. I'm beginning to feel that I'm forced to buy totally new batteries because of this and it's so frustrating the problem even exists. Why couldn't Red just design this mount to work like the WC mount, with a lower mounting option so that Red bricks align with the camera body. I don't want to deal with WC anymore but I have no other choice if I'm gonna be able to use the top handle provided with my Weapon. Buying three new batteries might A) not fit the case I have for the camera and B) will cost me much more than just a mount that works.

Getting really tired over all of this.
