The DMC2 Outrigger handle included in Jetpack package should also be included in Base/I/O package...just makes more sense to me. The universal handle does not seem to fit the package... How much is the outrigger going to be, can we swap Universal and pay some additional?

anyone see any pictures of how this handle mounts off/on the camera?

those are the only 2 images available of this handle afaik...
(they look slightly different... not sure which one is the latest)

The more I thought about this today, I can't quite figure out how the outrigger handle was deemed more appropriate for the "gimbal or drone" market vs. the base I/O "run and gun" market. IMO, a gimbal or drone user would be far less likely to need a side handle with a record button. They'd be looking for as slim and tight package as possible. I don't see putting a Raven on my gimbal with a side handle sticking out. The base I/O crowd on the other hand would definitely appreciate the functionality. Head scratcher. My only thought is perhaps they wanted to keep the I/O package under $10k and opted for a less expensive handle to achieve that goal.

The I/O package handle seems to obstruct the 5" Touch, so the two don't even seem compatible, let alone should be in the same package.

Agreed. With the outrigger, the monitor could theoretically fold down after use and the whole unit tucked into a case in a pretty compact way. The I/O handle obstructs the view as well as makes stowage less "vertically tidy" - or possibly requires physically removing the handle each time, which kind of runs contrary to the "run and gun" philosophy.

Yep, agree with all of this 100%

+1

+1. This could be a great adjustment.

If the Outrigger handle is not included in the Base I/O package then is it possible to purchase this separately as well?

Also, I could be wrong, but it looks like you could mount the top handle to the back edge of the Raven instead of near the front next to the monitor?

Funny thing is that Reven Jetpack package looks more expensive than I/O Base.

Jetpac 9750$
- Jetpack expander
- Belt V/lock
- Outrigger Handle (another electronic device)

I/O Base 9950$
- V/lock Expander
- Piece of metal

But DSMC2 Base Expander costs 1750$. So V-Lock version should by around that price. Jetpack coast only 950$ so to keep packages under 10k RED gives us "normal" handle to I/O Base.

Agreed! +1

Actually did not realize it until just now that it did not come with this side handle.

Does it not make more sense to reverse the handles on these packages? lighter smaller handle for the gimbal package?

That has been the challenge as a consumer... we knew a good amount about the Raven brain itself early in the game, but are just now finding out more detailed information on some of the parts and pieces we've already bought. It was sort of a leap of faith in order to "get in line" before the line got too long.

To be honest im not very interested in the outrigger as much as i am wondering if this new universal handle will fit into the easy rig cradle..the previous top handles work with easy rig quite well.. any idea? Brent?
