I am not sure what the Wifi upgrade addresses....

AJ

What wifi module upgrade? Where did you read this?

Is anyone who is using the Sigma Art zooms (the photo versions) still having issues with the 50-100 not being detected by the EF mount? the 18-35 works fine, but the 50-100 is still not detected. Both of my lenses are on EF mount firmware 2.0.1

I'm using the old firmware, but I never got an issue with the Sigma Art 50-100. Maybe use the Sigma dock to update it ?

As for the Wifi, I don't know what it update, but mine always had trouble staying connected, and my Omod command has never been able to transmit the R-Link

I'm guessing this stems from the 7.0.2 firmware release that included an update to WIFI card. You were probably running an older version. Better performance.

Can anyone else with latest Beta firmware and Weapon-MG confirm for me lack of aperture control on EF mount lenses. I suspected it was only with Tokina 11-16 but through my Canon 24-70v2 on the mount today and same issues. And now guessing no way to roll back to firmware 6.3 or 6.4 something.

Hello Berenger, I'm using the latest sigma firmware (2.0.1) so I'm hoping to downgrade the firmware on the lens somehow. It was working fine before I updated. What firmware are you running on the lens, and what firmware are you running on your RED?

Thanks for any assistance

James

Hey all, I have some questions about future ideas for red firmware/operations.

Can we for security with our camera products get a password/login like que on bootup?
Maybe not a priority for large scale productions, but us light steppers/gun-runnas, we are always concerned with security when side stepping on our own.

If we can get our cameras to lock out if stolen, no one would be able to re-sell them in a black market without contacting RED to re-activate?
With wi-fi implementation as well, it could be trackable? Bricked out/locked even?

This thinking has stemmed off the mobile production going on now, surely the mobile tech will have this to match the scale of security that competitors have.

Is this even possible at all or is there no processing room for it?

used this today on a commercial job. ive ran it without fault on a few personal tests and shoots and have behaved fine. did so today however i did notice issues with connections to directors monitor via bnc. it wouldnt show picture unless you rebooted the camera again. found a solution where I when to monitors and disabled and enabled and all of a sudden, picture back. Not sure if this is a issue with firmware but never experienced this before on other versions of the software...

I also have no aperture control on SIGMA and CANON ZOOMS with this firmware on my WEAPON CF/Cannon mount. Looks like we are many. Please help, how can we solve this?

Hi everyone,

Friendly reminder, please post any feedback on RED's Support Forum for the BETA here: https://support.red.com/hc/en-us/community/topics/360000568194-RED-Public-BETA-v7-1-Firmware-

You can also comment on previous posts made by other users.

Hey thanks Alex, I had no idea this section/area existed.

I also found this is actually getting implemented or at least looked at. Which is massively satisfying to see happen/in the works.
The RED team are brilliant.

This is such a great idea. I hope it can and will be implemented.

out of beta

out of beta

Is the a bypass for the voltage warning, a way to turn it off?

Full release of 7.1.0 was put out a few days ago. Might be a good idea to announce when these things are released out of beta?

Updated to the release version of 7.1.0. On my Weapon MG, it crashes every time it hits the RED logo splash screen. Beta was more stable than the release. Submitted a ticket to RED and they've suggest stick to the old firmware for now...
