  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

That "black-ring sun" fix was fast as shit... Proof it's a time machine Jannard is building.
 
Thanks to the RED team on all the work on the nikon lenses, I realize that mount has a bunch of subtleties. Nikon lenses are my primary lenses for 2nd unit, clean plating for vfx and fx shooting - so these updates help me out a lot(is one of the big reasons why I am through and through RED). Also for a lot of 2nd unit work am doing that with prores, so the prores updates with RAW are most welcome in speeding up my daily process.

Received confirmation from RED that 6.3.17 is Release and edited Jarred's post. I think it was just a typo.

Used these so far:
zeiss distagon 15mm 2.8 zf .2 nikon
af-s nikon 1.4 85mm, 35mm, 24mm,58mm

All worked perfectly. Also before I wouldn't switch lenses with the camera on because of problems. With this 6.3.17 build I can switch between all these lenses and manual lenses with the camera on ... and it allows iris control immediatly.

Unfortunately I don't think this got fixed. My camera is showing 24V right now. And it's a regular 14.8V battery...
I'll be filling a ticket...

Oh bugger my camera with the ET battery module shows 24V as well. Will load up the new FW in the next few days and see if I have better luck. Strange how difficult it has proven to get an accurate battery reading with the ET module.
 
Does this release have prores playback? Im still running the beta from a few builds ago.

I don't think that save shortcuts with preset has made it into the release build yet. :(

Can anyone confirm this new release has prores only playback for dsmc2? I don't want to update my firmware unless it does as I'm about to leave for a week long job and it's a solid (beta) firmware. Thanks in advance

The new firmware is amazing, even the iris of the new Nikon 24-70mm E lens works! Just plain AWESOME!!! :-) :-)
