  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

DSMC Fan 2.0 Kit - Audio Performance

Non sync sound is less a problem keeping the camera at constant heat as you could dial a lower Temp like 55C° and the camera fan would do the rest of the job to get it to target. In this case, the fan will work much more as if you set it to 65C° but it's easier if you go from 10C° to 35C° outdoor temp to stay at 55C° target temp.

If I shoot at -5C° I would probably balck shade at 45C° but I usually shoot with a black shade performed at 65C° as I'm more working interiors at 21-25C°. I do sometimes block the top fan to help the camera heat up, if I have to jump from cold exteriors to warm interiors, I usually use some tissue that lets the air pass and take it off when not needed anymore.

Manoj,

I would recommend "adaptive quiet" assuming you have the new fans and set your temperature for 65c. I occassionally get the yellow from temperature variations and its not a problem. Yellow simply indicates you have come off optimum but you are unlikely to notice any noise change on a properly exposed image. If it is usually yellow or even red you should check your camera congiguration, also make sure fans are running and the intake is not clogged with dirt and dust.

See if anyone is still around. I just installed the 2.0 kit on the Epic and the top fans don't seem to spin ever. I'm honestly not sure if they should but at 80% I'm assuming they would right?

Can't seem to find any examples of the top fan in operation.
