Mikael,
does this mean we can now send and receive files like 3D Luts, settings and RMDs directly to the camera using RCP commands???

Wow! Massive update and I can test this out right now.
I have a quick question.
Weapon OLPFs aren't showing up in the .R3D metadata. Is this corrected via firmware or REDCINE-X PRO/SDK?
I believe those Zeiss 50mm and 85mm updates are the new Milvus lenses. Thank you for that! Especially the 15mm support as well.
Very curious to see these monitor improvements. And thank you, thank you, thank you for the HDR Gamma Spaces. I literally was at the SMPTE Conference yesterday and had all sorts of things in my noggin.

The OLPF was recorded to the .R3D metadata, it wasn't being shown in RCX. We've corrected a flag in firmware that will allow RCX to display it.

Thanks Matthew!
Can you explain what's "Open Gate" support means?
Does it give additional sensor area??
Or does it emulate the sensor area of the Alexas in Open Gate mode?
The camera will allow you to run the preview rate on the LCD/EVF at twice the recorded rate (up to 30 fps). It's useful for removing the distracting monitor stutter at lower frame-rates. We'll have the guide updated shortly.
Wow ... that's way better then I was hoping for!Yes, that's meant to be BT1886. The HDR2084 and BT1886 modes go together. They're "matched" in that if you put the HDR2084 on a display accepting the SMPTE2084 standard and the BT1886 output to your typical SDR display, you get an image that is essentially the same, other than on the HDR the highlights just keep going up....

I think RED's psychic, I was just asking for this in a thread 3 days agoYou know what I love? That we ask for stuff and Red listens—except they don't just give us what we ask for... They give us way better stuff, things we haven't even thought of yet. Reminds me of the Apple from a certain time period.
Well done!
Looks like a great build!
Jarred, do you have a theoretical best case scenario of what the fastest possible boot time might be? Epic was at one time around 10-12 seconds. Is that the fastest you'll ever achieve or do you think it might be possible to get even quicker boot times? 10 seems like it would cover most types of production, while 6-8 would be killer but perhaps simply not possible with everything that is going on under the hood.
It is one of those see-saw battles... The engineers knock a second off and they get all excited and they have a little dance party but then I go in and ask for a bunch of new stuff and that takes away half a second and then you guys speak up and ask for a bunch more stuff and it gets added and it just keeps netting zero..... until the Engineers lock the door, dig really deep and make huge breakthroughs like they did with this build.
