  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Dragon...

Just read all Jim and Jarred's NAB updates - head spinning. It's too much for a gearhead to take!

I was trying to stop spending money!!

Biggest for me are Dragon 15stops with really low noise. Redray and Red Projector.

This is excellent news guys! Would be great if the new sensor had a frame size choice that is the same as true academy Super 35mm physical dimensions, whatever that is :-)

I'd just like to say...it took me almost 3-4 months to choose between #canon and #red for my future camera, so so happy i chose #red ;)

Had my Scarlet for about just under a month and love it

I hope since the Scarlet was due 120fps in SD
maybe with the dragon update the 120fps will be in 3K with either no crop or the crop 3K is currently in

4K would be great but i will def settle with 120fps in 3K ;)

So can we assume with the new latitude, which is great news by the way to improve on something that was already outstanding, is now the best in its class in terms of noise floor also ?

Everything you buy in technology goes down in value the minute you buy it. We have provided a way to mitigate that loss with upgrade programs. The real way to win this game is to put your tools to work.

Jim

At a certain moment technology items (if excellent) can go up in value. Original RED One's (not MX) will become a collectors item, I bet. Lower the serial number higher the value. Think Bugatti !

Ok, here are the important questions (great job with the 6k too). When can we buy scarlet with one as standard, and when are we getting the fulframe 8k version you announced a few years back, November?

Thanks Jim, got to luv u.

Well that's great for the epic but the scarlet will cost more and we will get less but being able to get the same specs as the old epic sensor would be great! How long will this offer stand because my piggy bank is busted!!!

I want slow motion abilities for my scarlet......slow motion... slow motion

So no potential firmware change to add even more with the new sensor? Just thought the new sensor might be able to allow more than +6. Still awesome though.
The limit of +6 with HDRx is quite likely a limitation in usable shutter speeds. At 1/50 shutter the X-track is using a shutter speed of 1/3200 at +6 stops. +7 stops would be 1/6400.
