  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Dragon...

Jim that would be more than great. we really would appreciate this, many of us here of the european red customers have 2 or more epics to upgrade ;-)
would make the things much easier.

Is the pixel size staying the same (0.0054mm)?
Doing a little math - assuming it is the same pixel pitch, 6K would neatly get you 36mm across. I'm not usually a betting man, but that's where my money would go.

If it turns out my money was smart, question would be Red's usual 2:1 aspect, or traditional 3:2?

The Dragon sensor is slightly larger than the Mysterium-X sensor and the pixel size is slightly smaller. The pixel design and sensor design makes all the difference in the world.

Most all of your current lenses will work.

Jim

Ha ha, I sware no one at RED had given away any info, but on the Script I had wrote last week that the Epic was been shot at 120fps full 5k, I guess I knew it... ;)

We can't wait to bring M8 under the knife Jim, and oh, great seen you and the boys and girls at the REDUSER PARTY, YET AN OTHER GREAT EXPERIENCE!!... ;)

I wonder how the low light performance is compared to the MX :)

Jim what is the size of the Dragon sensor? Full frame or S35?

I'm guessing it's going to land in the 6.14K-ish range. I need to save up for an Epic!

Man, I'm really excited about the Dragon sensor. Spec's look just about perfect, and the price is awesome. Thanks Jim and everyone else for making this happen.

That's so important! We have invested more into lenses than into our stage 3 Epic.

There have any sensor crop in various resolution?or line skip?........?

Yay! :) I was expecting this price point, to be honest! What are the other advantages we will see with the Dragon compared to current MX? Low light, for example? Will it bring a new redcode compression to the table?

Also, please, please push for 100fps in 6K (would love full range, but WS will do too) Maximum! We PAL users love 100fps ! :)

I'm so glad on being on the red boat! :) !
