  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Dragon....

So, if Toia is free to share tomorrow does that mean RED has some stuff for us to see today? :)

Slightly OT question - is there a separate Toia / Dragon thread or blog out there?

Not yet. Mark had some dialog on his FB page and an interview podcast with FXGuide, but the new official one on RedUser has not started yet. Seems like a good time to start a whole new section in Reduser.

Actually, Mark has posted a still of a DR test he did with the Dragon on his FB page.

I particularly liked his lead in".. this type of shot is a killer for most if not all cameras...". Couldnt help but smile at that one.

Very impressive and his comments are, as always, very interesting. I could copy and paste it here - but not sure if I should.

Needless to say, Dragon is looking very impressive indeed. I keep waiting for the 'gotcha'.. but noone is coming up with one... yet. Dying to see all the images and footage.

He posted that same image in this very same thread. What, you guys didn't read all 83 pages?

Night tests completed.... and WOW ! took our little team by surprise. Better results than we had hoped for.
4000ISO is completely useable. Even some of the 6400 iso scenes are good to use.

Spoke to Jarred today,
We are good to share Saturday onwards.

Which is good timing for me, because I have to go through several hundred test shots to find images that can represent the cameras dynamic range properly.
( Not to mention I have to go back to my real job tomorrow, because I have producers about to kill me if I keep playing Mr camera tester nerd )

This thread is done, Im starting a new one Friday / Saturday.

Here is a teaser image. :)
Enjoy.
