  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Dragon Takes Flight...

i didn't get the upgrade yet I'm working on a new show that shooting only on 35mm….but looking forward to it

Really Nice...

Nathen, how the hell are you man. Long time not chat. Thanks for sharing the lovely dragon footy, very vibrant and natural...perhaps now is time to pick up a 4k monitor. Be well mate...happy hunting.

Hi,
Super stuff....these kind of footages are temptation to click add to chart button for the CF at RED STORE...god only knows how I am being able to resist myself in doing so...
Congrats..

Terabytes of data required, serious workflow questions.

Forget everything from 35mm adaptors to sliders, jibs and steadicams to 4k to 5k to Mōvi to… whatever…

All you need is a 6k raw shooting carbon fiber camera and a helicopter with a gyro. That's basically it, and you're covered.

Looking at it that way, it's a pretty short list.

=)

Nice Luke.

Did I see some Yuba River footage in there?

Just some alternate footage. Echoing Nathans thoughts, the dynamic range is what stands out the most at first (from an aerial cinematography POV). We didn't run any tests but something was immediately apparent to all of us...there was MUCH less clipping in the highs of the clouds than on the Alexa. Considerably less. That extra room is huge when you're shooting into the sun :) Thanks to Nathan and GSS for letting us ride along.

The sun right now in Northern California is pretty weak. We'll know for sure in the summer how the Dragon handles shooting into the sun.

Certain reasons why it couldn't be uploaded in 4K (I'm sure you can guess half of them). But, to me, shooting into the sun and keeping the highlights (basically) in check shows off the camera...no matter what compression/resolution.
