Hey Jarred...absolutely gorgeous camera! We're particularly focused (no pun intended) on aerial UAV and flying camera work and so the additional weight savings is particularly appealing aside from the pure awesomeness LOL.

We are getting ready to receive our Scarlet to Epic upgrade and am wondering if there might be a path from Epic to Epic Dragon Carbon possible?

Many thanks for all the fine work you do and how it impacts our world and work...

...the bulk of the body and internals are also machined out of magnesium.. which is big part of the expense.

There are tons of sub-$2k cameras with magnesium frames/bodies, I'm really curious what Red's doing differently that makes it so much more expensive.

those would be cast...

remember the Epic-M's ? Machining is a whole different ballgame.

[Alex Kiritz]

Is there any chance of finding out what alloys are used for Epic-X, Epic-M and Epic-M Carbon?

[Filip Orlandic]

Dragon Carbon orders placed today expected to ship within 2-3 weeks. Is this correct?

[Travis Kyler Hoyt]

Is the Carbon Dragon's magnesium PL mount a standard or motion mount?

Magnesium, it is part of how they keep the weight off, as Magnesium is much litter then all other materials used in a mount.

Hey jarred how about an Epic to Carbon Dragon upgrade / trade in program and / or Dragon to Carbon Dragon upgrade /trade in program? (later of course)

A 'friend' may be considering Carbon but like others I'm sure would need to sell existing bodies first which is of course isn't very cost effective and riddled with expenses, losses, taxes, shipping and charges.

A Carbon upgrade price now or Dragon exchange option later might get a few more people across the line?

cheers
jas

[Phil Holland]

Hey jarred once we get into Dragon shipping or Carbon Dragons are shipped would you consider an Epic to Carbon Dragon and or Dragon to carbon dragon upgrade program?
A 'friend' is considering Carbon but would need to sell an existing camera first, no doubt he is not alone. He and they would love a Carbon option as an upgrade later or exchange now?

It's been mentioned that there wouldn't be an upgrade path to Epic Carbon Dragon as too much is different. However, the new fans have been added to upgrades and that changed since initial announcement. I know two folks who sold or are selling their Epics w/ Mysterium-X to get into Epic Carbon Dragon though.

[Jason Wingrove]

.. or trade in. which involves no physical upgrade but Red can make them Dragons

[Adam Eden]

Ill trade my Epic M and Epic X for 2 dragon carbon upgrades

[Alex Karmios]

One for me and Greg, please...
For starters...

Keeping the Epic & One of course....
