  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

DR ..a good discussion!!

The "Highs" Have been pulled down in this image to get a more "even" image. Just thought I would post it before I deleted the grade just in case someone else wanted to mess around with it.

Awesome Luigi. You are the best!
Checking them out now and yea Gemini looks much better.
Would be cool to see some more in daylight as well.

Thanks for the Helium & Gemini comparison shots Luigi.

Here are some grades done in Redcine-X.

Without fussing over it too much, I tried to adjust the images from both camera's to look the same, allowing the dark areas to remain dark.

Playing with the R3D's there's things I like about both sensors. Now I see why RED is considering each of these as "film stocks".

I particularly liked this one. The colors remind me of some renaissance paintings. I think the green plays a part in that, so I left it uncorrected in the grade. Helium ISO 5000 calibration 2:

Luigi,

Helping a buddy install some cabinets, but here are a few I did while changing at home. I will try to do some more later on when I get back from installing cabinets or tomorrow.

Luigi this thread has been the highlight for me the last weeks. If you have time to take some more outdoors images it would be fun to see for Gemini and Helium.

I think it is clear that Gemini kicks a¤¤ when it comes to nighttime, but would be interesting to see just how much the resolution difference makes compared to Helium. For us its leaning towards Gemini (just filmed a rare owl late in the evening), but arrg, I want both :D. Oh and I want a Monstro as well...

eheh next week, film something, I have some time. But from how I see Gemini have 1 more stop in the highlights in standard mode than Helium ...
But before confirming, do some tests;)

That is great to know. You seem to like the colors more. Do you find that can get rid of the slightly reddish look?

Best,
Andreas

Aaron.

I did that one in Redcine-X , a quick grade and just "eyeballed it".

Edit.

Also, Aaron I have lately been trying to correct some initial green out of .r3d images by adding "Purple/Magenta" in Redcine-X in "Tint". I think I will just stick to doing all "Color Cast" corrections in either Resolve Studio or 3DLut Creator Pro.
