I have found Monstro to be quite impressive. Shot some doc work in a very dark environment, developed at ISO 5000 and it looked great. No noise reduction was necessary for 1080P delivery.

Yes Eric, it's something pure even visually. Soft clean. I want to sell everything and buy only Monstro ehhehe

There's obviously something well known I've missed but could someone explain why when I open the Alexa and Blackmagic Dr images from the start of this thread in Resolve I see a flat almost noise free black level which is very unlike the noise floor in the Gemini Dr images. Does the Alexa ( and Blackmagic) have some internal noise reduction processing going on or are they just clipping and mapping the black to 0 ?

Marcus,
Make sure you have set Redwidegammut and Log310 and fulldebayer in the Camera RED raw menu, otherwise you'll find yourself in rec 709. Or apply the lut rec 709 to alexa and black magic ..
Just look at the black level on the vectorscope if it matches, or level this so that it is the same for the rooms you want to compare.

Locks in assorted colors. Its Late so I had to get a little bit Stupid.
