David,

Mike McCarthy, who made this test, may be more familiar with how to grade or setup one or both of the other cameras than with the Red Monstro.

I shot him over a comment. Also, notice how crazy the blue is on the Sony... they still have that issue even with there cinema line, crazy. Guess no camera is perfect.

Yup,

No camera "is"perfect. Could also be how the sensors are reacting from a combination of the different lenses specific lens coatings and the light sources used.

As long as we are going to talk about it, here is a re-post from Ming Thein, someone who I highly regard when it comes to photography. He shows some nice images to demonstrate his points. I think IPP2 does this rather well.

https://blog.mingthein.com/2018/06/...-between-cameras-and-human-vision/#more-17138

He says, "Dark areas must be less saturated to appear ‘natural’ – the higher-density, smaller, color-sensing cells in our retina grow less effective as light levels drop, leaving only monochrome vision with lower acuity. This is one of the reasons low key B&W images look much more natural than high key ones."

And, " However, now that the technical capabilities of sensors have come close to matching the eye in both resolution and absolute dynamic range – more thought needs to be given to the output presentation."

Hands-On with Sony's CineAlta VENICE: A Skintone Test. The actual test starts at about 1: 36, he only talks about the procedure for the test up until that point.

Strange test, in the Monstro shot, nothing is evne close to black in the frame. left goal post must have been pretty freaking far from being rased and the highlights, or pretty much the whole frame is placed on the very right hand side of the histogram.

On venice exposure is way better placed within the DR of the camera. Same with alexa.

Put ND6 in monstro and then compare, and it would have outpreformed the other two in color rendition and everything else.
