Rand I appreciate your dedication to collecting video links but but I don't understand the point of filling this thread with back to back links. Are you just trying to pad your post count? It really makes it hard to find the actual conversation or anything else when there are pages and pages of your consecutive posts. It seems like it'd be more appropriate if you started your own thread dedicated to collecting all those videos or color grading tests.

Noah Yuan- Vogel,

First, I would have never thought of as you said" of padding my post count", is that what you've done? And, as always, your are always a "johnny come lately" to every thread I've ever seen you in. I posted the videos that I have because each shows in one way or another how each of the "full frame" contenders look in a " low light" situation or just in general against each other. Maybe in the future you will use your posts to actually contribute something to the community other than for asking why another member is posting so much!

Rand, given how much of this thread is your grades and videos you've found I wouldn't mind if you created your own thread for grading and another for video comparisons. I do understand that these pertain to the discussion at hand but I'd find it more useful to have a succinct post now and then with your own observations. Wading through your grades and these videos, often presented without comment, does make it hard to read and participate in the thread.

Anton,

I understand what you are saying. But why would I need to tell you something you can see and assess with your own eyes? I get that you are more of a "talker" than I am. "Talk" is great but a picture is worth a thousand words and a video is worth even more for those who may not have the technical knowledge of some of the other members. There is nothing stopping you from a discussion on any of the videos that I have posted.

Sorry Rand I didn't meant to offend you, I only meant to understand the purpose behind it since it seems to go a bit against what I thought I understood to be forum etiquette. Perhaps I'm wrong, but I worry that it does a disservice to this awesome thread not to separate such high volume of only tangentially related posts into their own thread. Sorry if I came off as harsh, that wasn't my intention at all, I only mean to address it before it gets out of hand. Obviously this is more a job for a moderator and I'm not a moderator, so you may feel free to ignore me but I just wanted it to be mentioned that it might seem problematic since this thread is such a great resource for a particular kind of information.

Noah,

Well I apologize for my tone then as well. I understand what both you and Anton are trying to explain. I don't have the technical knowledge that some on this forum possess , so quiet frankly, there are some things that I won't be able to explain or convey in strictly technical terms as you or another member might be able to. So I post things that interest me and which other members may find as helpful and as useful as I did. I just post them and let others who "can" explain them in a more complex technical diction than I am currently able to. So I will try more in the future to be more aware of what I post.

These sample videos are nice to see but they don't tell me the same kind of information that Luigi's direct A/B comparisons do. Without knowing exposure information about the scenes displayed, we can't really deduce very much about dynamic range, which is what the thread topic is about. Not to mention there's an entire production team behind those videos as well as a whole post-production chain, which obfuscates that even further.

Aaron,

Well that's the thing about it, until someone else posts more footage taken under more specified stated parameters this was the best I could find. Unless you have something you can post to get the thread back on track again?
