  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

DJI Ronin

Spoke with Patrick on the phone today and they have already sent out my Ronin! I am so happy and pleased with their customer service and attention to our needs.

For those people on these formus that have nothing but negative things to say about AMP, I have to completely disagree and tell you to think about what you say first, as they have been very accommodating and understanding of the issues. And ultimately, they are the ones having to deal with all the crap and we just get to be happy creative people with our new Ronins!

Props to Patrick and the rest of his crew at AMP! Great work to all of you! :)

Great news!

Sorry to post this again... but does anybody know when U.K buyers will be getting their Ronins from ProductionGear? When will DJI ship out our Ronins? Also, does anybody know the price of a spare battery?

My Ronin is shipped, the difference in cost is refunded. Thanks Patrick and AMP, solid business.

Ronins must not be at al UK resellers as i just got call from my one, paid and will be with me next week.

Hi Nosa,
Yeah, i was allocated to London Camera Exchange, have to say they have been excellent.

Yeah, there was a couple i think. I got the call today to say they had received them. Expecting mines Tuesday. My Epic is in for upgrade to Dragon so no camera ( Other than 5D) for a couple of weeks.
Does anyone know what length of cable is needed when the LCD is mounted on the handlebar. Is 24" enough or is longer needed, as i need to still source a cable.

Andrew.

Were u in the group buy? Are you getting the 10% discount on top of the reduced price and are they charging for delivery? If u don't mind me asking.

That's great that they are starting to ship in quantity. I'm predicting a bunch of used Ronin's on the market within the next week.

Just picked ours up from AMP today.
First purchased unit in the wild? Either way, I feel like a kid on Christmas morning.

About the LCD cable. I'm against using any physical cable connection between the gimbal and it's support (be that the handle bar or another support platform). Having said that - the Ronin motors can handle that without a problem. If you want to use LCD cable - do get the thin type from Slackline or the other suppliers. RED's LCD cable is rather stiff and not the best choice for this. You might get away with the 24", bu 30" or even 36" will give you more freedom for the various operating modes...

If you guys have any questions as you start with your Ronins - do not hesitate to ask on my review thread and I will answer as soon as possible. If you need something more urgent - Willis will provide details of the new PRO support team and you can also reach me on peter(at)derylgroup(dot)com
